SntryStr delivers a scalable and independent archive solution for EASY ENTERPRISE.i and EASY ENTERPRISE.x customers. As QStar has announced, their SntryStr archive appliance has completed integration and testing with the EASY ENTERPRISE suite for document and archive management. This certification process includes both the EASY ENTERPRISE.i and EASY ENTERPRISE.x platforms which support Microsoft Windows, Linux and other UNIX operating systems. The combined solution provides a simple appliance-based archive environment for EASY customers to manage the long-term retention of their documents in a way that is independent of storage hardware.
The EASY certification procedure for SntryStr was completed with a Blu-ray optical library from DISC. The security and longevity of Blu-ray makes it the archive option of choice for many customers; however, the SntryStr architecture is completely storage hardware independent. This unique approach allows customers to choose the storage technology that best meets their current business objectives while supporting future technologies and increasing archive capacity.
Integration with EASY ENTERPRISE.i used the QStar API together with the EASY TRANSFER facility and the EASY ENTERPRISE.x integration was enabled through the EASY Archive Storage Provider. The primary certification was completed using only a few standard operations that allow EASY ENTERPRISE documents to be stored, verified and accessed transparently through the SntryStr appliance.
“The certification procedure with QStar’s SntryStr was straightforward.†commented Joerg Tegtmeier, Product Manager from EASY SOFTWARE. “Since both the QStar SntryStr and our own EASY ENTERPRISE platform are using standard protocols, we were able to quickly verify their combined operation. More importantly, this test and certification process ensures that our customers have an approved solution that will be fully supported in future product releases.â€
“SntryStr certification with the EASY ENTERPRISE platform is another step in the growing relationship between EASY SOFTWARE and QStar.†explained Riccardo Finotti, CEO at QStar Technologies. “As a leading player in the document management market, EASY is a strategic partner for QStar. We welcome the opportunity to offer EASY customers a compelling archive strategy that is very flexible, simple to deploy and cost-effective to operate. Despite difficult economic times, archive requirements continue to grow and the combined EASY / QStar solution allows companies to optimize their IT infrastructure and achieve more with less.â€
