Auspicious prospects: EASY at Lotusphere

Once every year, Florida is the meeting place for all Lotus Notes/Domino users. Lotusphere is the largest IBM conference in this sector that is held there. Presentations, discussions and “hands on labs” give interested users a detailed overview. EASY SOFTWARE AG was there for the first time this year: Side by side with its U.S. subsidiary, EASY SOFTWARE AG was present from January 20 through 24, 2008. EASY NOTES was used to present an extensive overview of archiving solutions from EASY SOFTWARE.

“The response to our presence here has been very good,” explains Bjoern Winter, Product Manager at EASY. “The reason seems to be that we’re one of the few companies that are capable of archiving data from Lotus Notes applications in addition to e-mails. By contrast, the products and solutions from many of the competitors present at this conference are limited to the latter sector.” The quality of the contacts made is also outstanding. Thus, very promising dialogues with representatives from several “Fortune 100” companies were entered into.

Document management: a market with excellent future prospects

The visitors approaching us displayed an interest both in partnership alliances and as prospective customers.  Lotus Notes/Domino is almost exclusively used by larger U.S. corporations. People do not approach us simply because of NOTES, they approach us generally because of document management,” says Bjoern Winter, describing the situation.
Given the variety of participants in the conference and the international clientele that made it to Orlando not just from the American continent, but came to Florida from all over the world, Bjoern Winter looks to the future with optimism: “It’s only now that users mostly realize the necessity of document management in their organization. So a significant market is evolving for us in this sector.”
